This past Saturday my family and I watched the documentary, More Than A Game. Most people remember Lebron's story as part of this documentary, but the essential part of the story is about the young boys who lived and played together. The term that comes to mind is crew. The dictionary definition for crew is a group of people who work together. Lebron, Dru, Romeo, and Sian all worked together on and off the basketball court to win a National Basketball title. As I watched, I thought who is my crew.
Then I realized, I have different crews for different goals, but they all help me achieve one thing. There is my family crew, my work crew, my college friends crew, and my church crew. My family crew: my wife, sons, mother, father, mother in-law, aunts, uncles, and counsins all help me grow as a person. My work crew all help me achieve some professional goal. My college friends crew continue to help me discuss things that I can not discuss with my family or work crew to help me in both the good and bad times. My church crew is like my extened family who help me grow spiritually.
No, I have not won a National Basketball Title but I have crews that are helping me win in life.
