Constructive Criticism

Most people ask for constructive criticism but never use it. Recently, I asked a colleague to review my blog post and provide constructive criticism. The colleague's comments were unless you make your blog more social no one will read it. You have information that really makes a reader say "who does this guy think he is." You should explain what Amhara is, because no one knows what is means. As you can see I have changed my blog as a result.
In the past I asked for constructive criticism and took offense because it was not what I wanted to hear. As I have gotten older, I realize most people will give you really good advice- if you ask for it. Most people will not give you any more advice if you don't use the advice they gave you the first time.
Have you received some constructive criticism and used it?
